Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be in working or in waiting, another year with Thee.

Another year of progress, another year of praise,

Another year of proving Thy presence all the days.
Another year of mercies, of faithfulness and grace,

Another year of gladness in the shining of Thy face;

Another year of leaning upon Thy loving breast;

Another year of trusting, of quiet, happy rest.
Another year of service, of witness for Thy love,

Another year of training for holier work above.

Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be

On earth, or else in Heaven, another year for Thee.

 Wow, a New Year is again upon us,but the old year went out with more memories made!

All of the children made it home this year for Christmas except for the oldest son. There were 17 around the table for Christmas Day !

There was lots of food ,noise and commotion for fours days. The weather was warm,so the grandchildren totally enjoyed the trampoline,bike,and trucks.

The only granddaughter took a little timeout to read.

The camellias are blooming beautifully right now ,they were a lovely addition to the table.

Now life is back to everyday living, I’m back to my sewing room… It felt good to be back in my sewing room after it was used as a bedroom for week. I was able to finish the center of the Fire Island Hosta ,daughter is tickled with it.

And I finished this top with the blocks that I goofed up. Never know where a goof up might take you..

Made these pillowcases for my Mom,she is in rehab to regain what she lost in a stroke a few weeks back.

Took this picture at the Chesapeake Bay tunnel on the way home from seeing Mom. It was a beautiful evening !!

Blessings to all for the New Year! Deb

    Don’t you hate it when you have to turn your sewing room back into a guest room?! Actually, I can tell you were thrilled with having company–and it sounds like a wonderful celebration! Happy New Year to you, too!

    Happy New Year! The poem is lovely–and I enjoyed the pictures of your holiday table. The long table brings back warm memories of family gatherings my mother and grandmother had. The Fire Island Hosta is incredible. You are an amazing quilter.

      I enjoy setting the table up like that,it does make more dirty dishes..so for some of the meals I cheated and used paper ware.Thank you for your kind words on the fire island hosta quilt!😊

    I hope your mom is doing better. My mom was just in the hospital with pneumonia but has recovered nicely. She had a stroke too a while back and it affected the right side of her body. She does ok though. She has learned to write with her left hand and she is back to painting the ceramic Santas she gives us every Christmas. I am so glad you had such a beautiful sunset on the way home. What an exciting Christmas you had.

      I wish I could say she doing great but she isn’t doing so good,she had another mini stroke again which has set her back in therapy. It’s like she’s taking two steps backward and only one step forward. That sunset was a blessing!!
