But first it is good to say that the pecans are all picked up.. while I enjoy picking up pecans it is good to see the end. So goodbye pecanpicker upper until next year.
I took a better picture of the first finished scrappy quilt after washing it.
And a top finish with these blocks…
Then I decided to play around with appliqué
Until something felt different as I was sewing .. I couldn’t believe I did this..
I was sewing on top of this block!😳 so out came the seam ripper…. after careful ripping and more sewing I was able to finish this baby quilt. Hubby and daughter say my teddy bear has wings, which is supposed to be a pillow but I guess it won’t hurt to have an angel bear watching out for baby. 😊
I got some hand quilting in…long way to go though.
And now I need to go find my coffee cup,and watch “Annie” with Leona.
The appliquéd baby quilt is a great idea, but I love the strings blocks quilt so much! You’re giving me all sorts of ideas. 🙂

What beauty! You’re getting so much done and I love seeing those tiny hand quilting stitches! I taught some friends the basics of hand quilting a couple weeks ago–I’ll need to show them your stitches, as inspirations!

Awe..your a dear! Thank you for the encouraging comment. Oh what fun to teach someone to hand quilt. I hope they grow to love it as much as you and I do. 🙂

You have quite the creative soul Deb, popping out these wonderful quilts with whatever comes your way in fabric! Your hand quilting looks quite amazing. I’d love to look over your shoulder.😊

Thank you! And yes,you can peek over my shoulder while I quilt then I’ll peek over yours as you knit. I can crochet as I was taught by my Grammy as a child, never learned to knit though.

The quilts are lovely, but the hand stitching is wonderful, we were taught at school to hand stitch and knitting. I’m not sure if they teach it here anymore, but it started at the age of five when I went to school 🙂

Thank you! I’m not sure how much of sewing the schools here teach anymore. They didn’t teach knitting or quilting in school when I went, more on how to use a sewing machine to make garments …

I’m not sure if a lot of young people here can sew or knit, which is a great shame. They just seem to want to buy everything, my daughter can can do both, but my grand-daughter has no interest in either, which is a great shame really.
